چکیده

The long-Term Evolution (LTE) of the 3GPP (3 rd Generation Partnership Project) radio access network is in early stage of specification. Self-tuning and self-optimisation algorithms are currently studied with the aim of enriching the LTE standard. This paper investigates auto-tuning of LTE mobility algorithm. The auto-tuning is carried out by adapting handover parameters of each base station according to its radio load and the load of its adjacent cells. The auto-tuning alleviates cell congestion and balances the traffic and the load between cells by handing off mobiles close to the cell border from the congested cell to its neighbouring cells. Simulation results show that the autotuning process brings an important gain in both call admission rate and user throughput.

Mobility Load Balancing Based Adaptive Handover in Downlink Lte Self-organizing Networks

This article investigates mobility load balancing (MLB) algorithm implementation through network simulator (ns-3) in long term evolution (LTE) systems employing orthogonal frequency division multiple access (OFDMA) for downlink (DL) data transmission. MLB is introduced by the third generation partnership project (3GPP) as a key target of LTE self-organizing networks (SONs) [1]. Our contribution...

Target Cell Selection Scheme Using Lms Algorithm for Load Estimation of Neighboring Enbs in 3gpp Lte System

Handover failure probability is one of the important factors to determine the handover performance in cellular radio system such as the 3rd generation partnership project (3GPP) long term evolution (LTE). To minimize the handover failure probability, the Hybird target cell selection (TCS) scheme considering both the received signal strength (RSS) and load information of neighboring evolved Node...

Application of Game Theory for Load Balancing in Long Term Evolution Networks

Game theory offers a set of effective tools to be applied in autonomous and distributed self-organizing networks. A typical use case is load balancing which aims at increasing the overall network capacity in case of unequal traffic distribution. The 3GPP Long Term Evolution (LTE) standard provides the means that enables the handover of users from highly loaded cells to the lower loaded neighbor...

Mobility Prediction and Load Balancing Based Adaptive Handovers for LTE Systems

In cellular networks including Long Term Evolution (LTE) systems, how to balance the load is indispensable because traffic load and local user densities vary dynamically. A load balancing problem occurs when available wireless resources are not enough to support the requirements of users. Such a problem may lead to blocked or dropped calls and degrade the quality of service. This paper proposes...

Persistent Scheduler Based Call Admission Control for Long Term Evolution (3GPP) Networks

This In this paper, we propose to design a call admission control algorithm which schedules the channels for Real time and non-real time users. In Long Term Evolution (LTE) 3GPP Networks, several works were done on call admission control but these works rarely considers scheduling of resources to the real time and non-real time users. When the system meets traffic oriented performance degration ...
